Total Solar Eclipse
I shot a glance up at the sky, and the world stood still, for above was the most exquisite spectacle I've ever witnessed in two decades of living on this planet: a black sphere outlined by a fluorescent white glow, piercing the heavens with its illuminating rays. In my peripheral emerged a glorious star, slicing in half a charcoal-colored cloud with its lustrous glint. This is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, I thought to myself. I wanted to stare at it for an eternity. Not only was it aesthetically pleasing, but it also meant something to me philosophically. Even when darkness is at full capacity, light makes room for itself to shine through.
